One set of complete oil sludge treatment system ready for delivery this week, this is a 2m3/h customized design oil sludge treatment system as per client’s requirement. The main purpose of the client is to recover the oil from the oil sludge. It can be widely used for refinery oil tank bottom cleaning, oil sludge separation, oil based cuttings treatment, contaminated soils treatment, hazardous waste treatment, etc. applications.


The technical configuration is as below:
1) Premixing Tank Module
The vacuum pump transfer the oil sludge from the waste pit to premixing tank, which is equipped with heating lines, mud agitator, the oil sludge will be washed, heating and agitating, mixing with chemicals for flowability.


2) Classify System: The oil sludge from premixing tank will be transferred to a V bottom tank with screw conveyor on the bottom for solids sedimentation and liquid classification. The top layer will flow to disc centrifuge for oil and water separation. The bottom layer will be washed with chemical jetting, which will be shipped to solids control module.


3) Solids Control module
The solids control module consist of course solids shale shaker and fine solids decanter centrifuge, the 2 panel shale shaker is the mini shale shaker among GN all the shale shaker models, it will reduce the solids content and separate the big solids bigger than 1mm, so that the decanter centrifuge will not be damaged.

The decanter centrifuge is the mini decanter centrifuge with 9 inch bowl, the highest speed is 4500rpm, the separation cut point is 2~5 microns. With good efficiency of the centrifuge, the clean fluids will flow to disc centrifuge for water oil separation, otherwise the high solids content will influence the separation result of the disc centrifuge.

This week GN shipped one set of workover rig solids control system to Australia. The configuration is as below:
1) Shaker tank with 2 units of shale shaker to clean the drilling mud


2) Mixing tank with mixing hopper, 2 units of centrifugal pump to prepare for new drilling fluids
3) Mud agitator, mud gun, pipelines, valves all equipped with both mud tanks
The difference for this solids control system between normal solids control system:
1) All the electric control system include cables, glands, electric components, and the design should be comply with Australia explosion proof standard
2) The lifting pad, walkway, handrail, the distance between adjacent components, etc should be comply with Australia safety regulations
3) The welding and painting standard is also very strict in Australia, the tank top surface is fixed with high strength glass fiber reinforced plastics.


4) The clean gate is with high position gate valve type clean gate for convenient operation and cleaning of the accumulated solids
GN design and manufacture the workover rig solid control system as per the client’s special requirement and Australia standard. This is not the first unit of solids control system shipped to Australia, we had sold over 30 units of mud recycling system for HDD industry.

One unit of 1m3/h oil sludge treatment system testing unit is shipped to Europe recently, this is for client’s urgent requirement, later the 15m3/h oil sludge separation system will be shipped next month for the same client.


The client has visited GN factory in Beijing twice, after factory inspection and business negotiation, they placed order for the 15 m3 oil sludge treatment system, and also the 1 m3/h oil sludge separation system for urgent purpose.

The main components of the system including:
1) 2 panel shale shaker to separate coarse solids from the oil sludge in case of any coarse solids will damage the decanter centrifuge
2) 2 phase mini decanter centrifuge to separate the fine solids maximumly from the oil sludge by mixing with chemicals, with fluids collection box
3) 3 phase disc centrifuge to separate the oil from water to get pure oil and pure water
4) Oil storage tank and water storage tank
5) Pre mixing tank with mud agitator, heating lines
6) Chemical dosing system
7) Shale shaker fluids storage tank with heating lines
8) Shale shaker feeding pump
9) Decanter centrifuge feeding pump
10) Tank skid for the all equipments

The system is originally produced to show at CIPPE oil exhibition, after the exhibition, we shipped the testing unit to a domestic client for testing their oil sludge treatment, they use the proper chemical jetting and get the satisfied result, then we shipped the unit back to our factory for cleaning, and prepare to test in other client’s jobsite.

Based on different site schedule, the installation of Vist vacuum shaker screen unit have 2 ways: 1) it is installed externally of the shale shaker, there is one pipe to connect to the last shaker screen of the shale shaker; 2) it is installed under the last shaker screen of the shale shaker when there is enough room.

The purpose to install the vacuum is to reduce drilling waste:
1) Reduce the volume of drilling waste, the drilling cuttings will be much drier, the fluids on the cuttings is reduced 30% to 50%, so the further drilling waste treatment cost is much cheaper, or the transportation cost of drilling cuttings is cheaper
2) Increase the drilling fluids recovery efficiency, save the cost to prepare new drilling fluids
3) Save the cost of the client to buy more equipments, such as drying shaker, shaker screens, vertical cuttings dryer, etc, also save the space to install these equipments

Recently GN solids control shipped 8 sets of shale shaker without vibration motor shipped to our clients, the client will install the vibration motors by themselves who had installation capability. This is not the first order from this client, they repeat orders because they are satisfied with the working performance of GN shale shakers which they ordered before.


Shaker deck is the most esscential components for a shale shaker, the bottom material treatment before painting, we owns our ball blasting machine, the ball blasting degree is 2.5 with working life 10 years more, we can control the bottom treatment quality better, unlike other solids control manufacturer in China, they use sand blasting which is provided by third party supplier. 3 layers painting and coating by choosing Japan Kansai or US ppg brand painting, to promise the shaker deck not to get rusty and abrasion during the operation. In some tenders, it required the complete the shaker deck( all the vibration and non vibration components) are made of stainless steel material, it will increase the shaker production cost a lot and the the client has to pay more money.


The deck bottom of GN shaker is made of stainless steel material, and the unique rubber sealing technology to ensure the reliable performance of the rubber sealings, we also use GN own made composite material shaker screens, the working life is 2 times compared with the traditional steel frame shaker screens.
