Recently one set of small solids liquid separation unit and one package of decanter centrifuge are shipped to Europe client. The technical configuration of the small solids liquid separation unit is as below:
1) 1 unit of 2 panel shale shaker GNZS752F installed 2 pcs composite material frame shaker screens, we can produce shaker screen from API 20 to API 300 comply with API RP13C standard. The shale shaker is to separate coarse solids from the fluids and reduce the solids content. 2) 1 unit of decanter centrifuge GNLW223D-VFD with feeding pump, the max capacity is 130L/min, normal capacity for waste water is 100L/min, the bowl length is 26.4 inch with ratio 3.
3) 1 unit of mud tank to install the decanter centrifuge and shale shaker on top, the feeding pump is installed on the skid of the tank. 4) One set of electric control system to control all the motors, all the equipments are labled and certified with CE.
Besides the solids liquid separation unit for drilling, the client also required one package of decanter centrifuge GNLW224E, the bowl diameter is 9 inch (220mm), bowl length is 36.4 inch (924mm), the ratio of bowl length/ bowl diameter is 4.2, which is much bigger than GNLW223D, which with bowl length 670mm/ bowl diameter 220mm =3. The fluids will stay in the bowl for longer time and the discharged water is more clear. The max bowl speed is 5000rpm, the typical bowl speed is 0 ~ 4500 rpm. The max G force is up to 3077G, the typical G force is 2492G, with main motor 11KW, back drive motor 5.5KW, the gearbox ratio is 95:1, the gearbox torch is 1400 N.M. The decanter centrifuge are installed on the frame for convenient lifting and transportation, the catch tank under the decanter centrifuge to collect the discharged fluids.

GNLW454EP decanter centrifuge is used for waste water treatment by working with chemical dosing system. Except for this model decanter centrifuge, GN also produce 9 inch bowl, 14 inch bowl, 18 inch bowl, 22 inch bowl, 30 inch bowl decanter centrifuge with different treating capacity. They can be used to treat materials for oil & gas drilling mud, drilling waste, oily sludge, industrial waste water, mining tailings, dredging slurry, etc. The G force and operation speed influenced the separation performance a lot.
The screw conveyor is widely used to transfer the material with high solids content. Each section with 12ft length, we can select different qty sections to meet customer’s requirement, 1 section length is 12ft, 2 sections is 24ft, 3 sections is 36ft, 4 section is 48ft. Each auger with protection cover to avoid spilling outside the auger. The flights are made of Mn Steel, wear-resistant coatings can be also sprayed to extend the using life. The bearing is from FAG or NSK brand for reliable performance. The water flushing pipe is equipped outside the auger for flushing. WBM waste treatment system technical specification: 1) High G drying shaker to separate coarse solids from the drilling waste, 2) VFD decanter centrifuge to separate fine solids from the drilling fluids, the chemical dosing system add chemicals into the waste water to improve the separation performance and efficiency.
The working principal of the decanter centrifuge to separate fine solids from the fluids is as below: The bowl and the screw ( inside the bowl) rotate by the same direction with a differential speed. the waste water is fed to the screw shaft by the centrifuge feeding pump, under the centrifugal force working, the solids desposited to the bowl wall and the solids is continuously pushed to the cone section of the centrifuge bowl and discharged to solids distribution port. Because of the gravity difference, the fluids overflows to the liquid distribution port which is in big end of the bowl. The straight bowl material is made of duplex stainless steel 2205 or 2304 by centrifugal casting, as clarification phase, the cone section is made of stainless steel 316L, which is as extrusion drying area. To adjust the differential speed by VFD control panel is very important operation for VFD decanter centrifuge, it will influence the decanter centrifuge separation performance a lot, the user should read the operation manual carefully and to be trained to input correct differential speed by the touch screen and controlled by PLC smart control.
The flow rate can be controlled by adjust the frequency of pump motor. When start the decanter centrifuge, the flow rate should be set properly in case that high flow rate lead the too high electricity currency which will burn the motor. After treated by decanter centrifuge, most of the ultra fine solids up to 1 microns will be separated out and get relative pure water.
