Recently 2 sets of oil based drilling cuttings treatment system are ready for shipment to Russia. Same with previous order, the vertical cuttings dryer and decanter centrifuges are installed in the container with insulation layer to keep the equipments warm in cold weather in China.
The technical configuration is as below:

1) Vertical cuttings dryer for oil based drilling cuttings treatment, the oil on the discharged cuttings is below 5%, the client can disposal the solids directly or send to TDU unit according to the environmental protection regulations in their country. The treated fluids will flow to the intermediate tank, the feeding pump of decanter centrifuge will feed the fluids to decanter centrifuge to separate the fine solids. The vertical cutting dryer is installed on the frame inside the container.


2) The waste decanter centrifuge will separate the solids cut point 2~5 microns from the fluids, the discharged fluids can be reused by drilling and prepare for new fluids.
3) Positive Displacement pump is as the feeding pump of decanter centrifuge and installed in the container.
4) The 40ft standard container with windows, doors and top open hole for easy replacement of the screen basket which is wear parts of the vertical cuttings dryer. The insulation layer attached with container is to keep the equipments working well in cold weather in Winter, it is special design for Russia clients.


Why use GN vertical cuttings dryer system?
As per the feedback from our client who has used GN drilling waste managements system, the vertical cuttings dryer system can reduce the drilling waste volume effectively, and the recovered drilling fluids can be reused, the client can save cost and time to transfer the drilling cuttings to third party facility for treatment. And more and more countries forbid to dig waste pit at rig site for environmental protection.

One set of oil sludge treatment system is ready for shipment, we have standard oil sludge treatment system with different treating capacity 1 m3/h, 5m3/h, 15m3/h for option, also we can design customized oil sludge treatment system. The technical configuration for this oil sludge separation system is as below:


1) Coarse solids shaker unit: This unit is to separate the coarse solids from the tank bottom oil sludge which is consist of oil, solids and water. There is hot water spraying system and sealing cover to prevent splitting . The adjustable G force is up to 7.5G, 2 vibration motor is made of Italy Oil or US Martin brand. The shaker screen with 1mm or 2mm opening is installed on the shale shaker.
2) Decanter centrifuge package: Decanter centrifuge is used after the shale shaker to separate fine solids from the oil sludge, when working together with chemical dosing system, most of the ultra fine solids could be separated out. The clean fluids will drop down into the mud tank, there is mud agitator installed on top of the mud tank, the heating lines around the mud tank to heat the oil sludge for centrifuge to be separated easily.


3) Inclined plate clarifier :to separate the ultra fine solids from the oil slurry, it should ensure the minimized suspend solids content remained in the fluids so that the oil water separator can work well.
4) Oil water separator to separate oil and water, the oil will flow to oil buffer tank once reached the limit level, it will pump to the oil storage tank automatically, there is liquid level meter to monitor the liquid level. The clean water will be pumped to the water storage tank.

This week one batch of big bow decanter centrifuge and shale shakers are ready for shipment to USA. The models and configuration is as below:

  1. Big bowl decanter centrifuge: The decanter centrifuge is used to separate the fine solids from the drilling fluids after shale shaker. The shale shaker with good performance can reduce the solids content effectively and protect the centrifuge screw from damaged by the big solids. GN solids control can produce decanter centrifuge from 9 inch bowl to 30 inch bowl, the mini centrifuge with 9 inch bowl diameter is mainly used for mining and waste water treatment, also it can be used in compact oil sludge treatment unit, the 14 inch bowl decanter centrifuge is the most popular model decanter centrifuge for solids control, drilling waste management system, oil sludge treatment unit and dewatering unit. The 18 inch bowl, 22 inch bowl decanter centrifuge is the big bowl decanter centrifuge can be used for solids control, drilling waste management system, oil sludge treatment unit and dewatering unit and slurry separation. The 30 inch bowl decanter centrifuge is the biggest bowl decanter centrifuge we produced now, it can be used for Tunneling and other construction work which need big volume slurry.
  2. Linear motion shale shaker: The linear motion shale shaker is to separate the coarse solids from the drilling fluids, the user can use different API mesh size shaker screens to separate different solids size.GN shaker screens are produced comply with API RP13C standard and have been approved by the API authorized lab. The composite material frame shaker screen with longer working life, better conductance, better separation performance, better storage life, not only for our own shale shaker, we also produce the replacement shaker screens for world famous brand shale shaker with competitive price and good quality.

Recently we finished production of one set of solids control system to India, including shaker tank and decanter centrifuge tank system. This is a 5 phase separation mud tank system for 1500HP oil drilling rig. The working principal is as below:


1) 3 units of shale shaker as the first phase cleaning to separate the big solids bigger than 100 microns from the drilling fluids, it can be used for both water based mud and oil based mud or synthetic oil based mud. The shaker screen installed on the shale shaker is composite material frame shaker screens comply with API RP13C.


The possem belly is installed behind the 3 units of shale shaker as drilling fluids distribution box and collect the drilling fluids from the mud gas separator or from the elevated manifold directly.
2) desander cone is the second phase cleaning to separate the cut point below 45 microns. The fluids with solids below 45 microns will drop into the mud tank compartment. The 2# centrifugal pump suck the drilling fluids from this compartment and feed to 4 inch desilter cone.
3) desilter cone is the third phase cleaning to separate the cut point below 25 microns the fluids below 25 microns will drop into the desilter compartment and the submersible slurry pump will suck the mud from this compartment and feed to GNLW452C decanter centrifuge.


4) middle speed decanter centrifuge is the fourth phase cleaning to separate the cut point 5~7 microns for barite recovery.
5) high speed decanter centrifuge is the fifth phase cleaning to separate the solids 2~5 microns for high gravity solids, especially when the drilling fluids has been reused for several years, the fine solids is accumulated a lot and it can not be reused again, then the high speed decanter centrifuge is required to lower the solids content.

2 more construction slurry cleaning system for vacuum tanker vehicle is ready for shipment to USA, this is the client’s repeat order. After use the previous 2 system at their work site successfully, they repeat the order for another 4 units, this is part of their new order. They have given some good suggestions to improve the system efficiency and to be user friendly.
The basic working principal is as below:


The slurry collection hopper collect the construction slurry from vacuum tanker vehicle, this is special designed slurry collection hopper — a large open top hopper with 3-side weir surrounded, 1 side is low weir for slurry feeding from the vacuum tanker vehicle. The coarse solids separation shale shaker is sitting on it, the separated coarse solids/stones are collected by cuttings box, the clean slurry is dropped into the collection hopper and feed to the fine solids separation shale shaker by the submersible slurry pump. The fine mesh screen is installed on the fine solids separation shale shaker with composite material frame shaker screens for longer working life. GN can produce composite material shaker screens comply with API RP13C from API 20 to API 325. The slurry discharged shale shaker is feed to mud cleaner with desilter cone, the separation cut point is 25 microns by centrifugal pump, the discharged solids is drying by the bottom shaker screens.

The clean slurry is feed to high speed decanter centrifuge by working with dewatering unit by the screw pump, we have different size decanter centrifuge with different treating capacity for option, the bowl size with 9 inch, 14 inch, 18 inch, 22 inch, 30 inch. To get much pure water, sometimes chemical should be add to improve the separation efficiency.
