ATEX and CE Certified Solids Control System for Europe Client

Recently one set of ATEX and CE certified solids control system are ready for shipment to Europe client.


A complete solids control system including mud gas separator, drilling fluids shale shaker, mud cleaner combo unit ( desander, desilter, shale shaker), vacuum degasser, decanter centrifuge, feeding pump, mud agitator, centrifugal pump, mud tank system and explosion proof electrical control system. When this system carries both ATEX and CE certifications, it signifies compliance with stringent European Union regulations for safety and performance.


CE Certification
The CE mark is the manufacturer’s declaration that the product meets all applicable EU health, safety, and environmental protection legislation (known as EU Directives). It is mandatory for products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA).
ATEX Certification (The Specific Hazardous Area Requirement)
ATEX derives from the French “ATmosphères EXplosibles.” It refers to two key EU Directives governing equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres:
Why it’s crucial for Solids Control: Drilling fluids release hydrocarbon gases (methane, etc.). These gases can mix with air inside tanks, pits, and equipment, creating a potentially explosive atmosphere (Zone 1 or Zone 2). An ATEX-certified system is specifically designed to prevent ignition.

GN Decanter Centrifuge and Cuttings Dryer for Africa Drilling Company

One set of GN decanter centrifuge and vertical cuttings dryer are using for Africa drilling company. The equipments list including:
2 units of decanter centrifuge,model GNLW363D-VFD
1 unit of vertical cuttings dryer,model GNCD930G
Matched with screw conveyor, centrifuge feeding pump and vertical cuttings dryer flushing pump.


The screw conveyor GN produced including 10 inch, 12 inch, 14 inch, 16 inch and 18 inch diameter for option, each section standard length is 12 ft, we can use different quantity sections as per client’s requirement of transfer length, such as 12 ft, 24 ft, 36 ft, 48 ft, 2 sections are connected by pin shaft hanger. The screw conveyor can be fixed speed or variable speed( manually speed adjustable) to control the feeding rate. The screw propeller material is High Chrome Alloy Steel for longer working life.


According to the installation position and function of the screw conveyor, there are auger system for primary shale shaker discharge solids collection, desander desilter discharged solids collection, feeding to vertical cuttings dryer feed hopper, solids discharge auger for vertical cuttings dryer, solids discharge auger for decanter centrifuge, etc. The protection cover on the U type reinforcing beam could be closed steel plate or steel grating for option.
Additional safety protection of the screw conveyor:
1) Pull chord emergency stop with wire rope to be provided along the length of Augur for Emergency stop;
2) Audio / visual alarm system on the auger control panel which will be automatically activated once the power is switched on followed by the actual auger startup with a safety delay time. Audio / visual alarm system to be in the OFF mode after some time once the auger starts operation.

GN Decanter Centrifuge System for Africa Oilfield Waste Water Treatment

Recently one set of GN decanter centrifuge separation system are ready for shipment to Africa oilfield waste water treatment project. The system including mixing module, decanter centrifuge separation module, chemical dosing unit module, water recovery and transfer module.


The mixing module including mixing tank with mud agitator, to mix the oilfield waste water, the decanter centrifuge feeding pump will suck the water from the mixing tank to decanter centrifuge, at the same time, the chemical dosing unit will prepare the mixed chemicals and the screw pump will transfer the chemicals to centrifuge feed tube, so the decanter centrifuge can treat the waste water better, the treated water will flow to the water recovery tank and will be transferred to other tanks by the transfer pump.


The decanter centrifuge can separate the waste water into solids phase and liquid phase, GN also produce three phase decanter centrifuge, to separate the waster water into oil, water and solids. A three phase decanter centrifuge uses continuous high G centrifugal force to separate components based on density differential. The three-phase separation (solids, water, oil) happens because:
Solids (highest density) move to the bowl wall.
Water (middle density) forms an intermediate layer.
Oil (lowest density) forms an inner layer (if present in sufficient quantity).

GN decanter centrifuge features including:
1. The bowl and screw core shaft are made of duplex stainless steel SS2205 or SS2304 by centrifugal casting, which is superior to the performance of SS304 and SS316;
2. The solids outlet and liquid outlet are protected by replaceable hard alloy sleeve.
3. The main material of the screw is duplex stainless steel SS2205 or SS2304.
4. The screw propeller is protected by tungsten carbide tiles for longer working life.
