2 sets of vertical cuttings dryer system are shipped to domestic client. GNCM-40B standard drilling waste management system configuration is as below:


1) Vertical cuttings dryer GNCD930E: this is the ideal equipment to treat the oil based drilling waste or Synthetic based drilling cuttings, the oil on the separation cuttings is below 5%, which can meet the disposal limit for most countries, if the client need it to be lower, TDU can be applied.


2) Decanter centrifuge GNLW363C-VFD: This is the best sold model decanter centrifuges among all the series. The decanter centrifuge max speed is up to 3900rpm, the normal speed is 3200rpm to treat the low gravity solids. The max G force is up to 3062G, the typical G force is 2062G, the cut point is 2 ~5 microns. Except for GNLW363C-VFD decanter centrifuge with 14 inch bowl diameter, we can also produce GNLW364EP-VFD to treat the waste water when the water clarity is required strictly. If the client need bigger treating capacity, we will suggest 18 inch, 22 inch, 30 inch centrifuge bowl.
3) Submersible slurry pump GN50YZ20-18A as feeding pump of decanter centrifuge, this is not the best option pump to feed the fluids to the decanter centrifuge, but it is vertically installed, it can save space on the mud tank compared with screw pump, also the maintenance cost is cheaper compared with screw pump. The screw pump works steadily to feed the decanter centrifuge, the flow rate can be adjusted by VFD control panel by changing the frequency.
4) 2 units of Mud agitator installed on the mud tank to mix the drilling fluids
5) Mud tank skid, the decanter centrifuge are installed on it, the vertical cuttings dryer is installed on the frame. The complete skid for convenient transportation.

5) Oil sludge separation system : The configuration is as below:
The Premixing tank, coarse solids separation shale shaker, decanter centrifuge, three phase centrifuge, chemical dosing unit, fluids buffer tank, shaker fluids collection tank, oil tank, water tank and complete skid. The mud agitator and heating lines installed on the premixing tank.

Recently GN solids control shipped vertical cuttings dryer, decanter centrifuge system to Russia drilling companies, they are installed inside the 40ft container to keep them warm and avoid frozen of the drilling cuttings when working in Winter.


The client use the vertical cuttings dryer system for oil based drilling cuttings, when they use water based drilling cuttings, we will use different system design with high G drying shaker and decanter centrifuge, and we have standard design of pitless system for both water based mud and oil based mud ( also for SOBM), the client only need to buy one system and use them in different rig site.
The VFD decanter centrifuge GNLW363C-VFD is the most popular decanter centrifuge used for solids control system and drilling waste management system, oil sludge treatment system, dewatering system, solids water separation system and waste water treatment system. The VFD control panel is positive pressurized VFD control panel with PLC smart control and HMI interface, the inverter for main motor, back drive motor and feeding pump motor are made of ABB or Siemens brand or Schneider brand for global outsourcing.


The bearing is SKF brand, the screw  is made of stainless steel with heat treatment up to 1000 degree, the impeller is protected by tungsten carbide tiles for longer working life and easily replacement. The mud distribution port and solids discharge port are all protected by tungsten alloy and interchangebale. The bowl material is duplex stainless steel 2205 or 2304 by centrifugal casting, it is much better than SS304 and SS316.

Below is the photo of GN drilling waste management system working for CNPC project successfully, the client is satisfied with the performance, the oil on the cuttings is below 5%, it can meet the environmental regulation for landfill or for disposal. If the user need the OOC to be lower than 1%, we have Thermal desorption unit, the drilling waste management system can be used before TDU, it can save energy and save the operation cost of the TDU for the user.


The drilling waste management system consists of VFD decanter centrifuge, vertical cuttings dryer, screw pump for feeding the centrifuge, screw pump as flushing pump of vertical cuttings dryer, mud tank for collection of the centrifuge fluids.

1) All the centrifuge bowl is made of duplex stainless steel 2205 or 2304, which is better than SS316 and SS304, the other components are made of SS316. The screw is made of SS304 by heating treatment.

3) The bearing is SKF brand bearing to ensure the longer working life.

GN ViST vacuum shale shaker is a shaker unit with a vacuum suction hopper installed under the last shaker screen. The purpose to use the ViST vacuum unit under the shale shaker is for more recovery of the drilling fluids in the same conditions compared with shale shaker without ViST system, and the discharged drilling cuttings will be much drier, so the user can save cost to treat and disposal the drilling cuttings. Normally it is very difficult for the offshore drilling cuttings collection, treatment and disposal, sometimes client will ship them back to drilling waste management facility in land, the collection and shipment cost is very high, other clients use cuttings re-injection technology, some clients use Thermal desorption unit, some clients installed drilling waste management on the offshore rig floor, but normally the area for offshore drilling rig is very limit, it is hard to install a complete vertical cuttings dryer system.
