Common Applications of centrifugal pumps on a Drilling Rig:

1.Feeding Solids Control Equipments: it works as feeding pump of desander cone and desilter cone
2.Mud Mixing and Agitation: Transferring drilling mud from a storage tank to a mixing hopper to add new bentonite or chemicals, or circulating mud in a pit to prevent settling.
3.Supercharging: Acting as a “charge pump” for the main triplex mud pumps. It provides a positive pressure at the suction of the main pump, preventing cavitation (a major cause of damage) and improving the main pump’s efficiency, especially when pumping dense muds.
4.Transfer and Loading: Moving mud from one tank to another or loading/unloading mud from supply boats or trucks.
Key Operational Considerations of the centrifugal pump:
• Proper Priming: The pump must always be flooded (full of liquid) before start-up. Running it dry will destroy the mechanical seal almost instantly.
• Wear Monitoring: Operators must regularly monitor the pump’s discharge pressure. A drop in pressure indicates that the impeller and/or volute liner are wearing down and need replacement.
• Cavitation Prevention: A “gurgling” sound and erratic pressure indicate cavitation, which is caused by a restricted suction (e.g., a clogged strainer or closed valve). This must be corrected immediately.

Mud Agitator and Centrifugal Pumps for Overseas Workover Drilling Rig

One batch of mud agitator and centrifugal pumps are ready for delivery for overseas workover drilling rig.
The mud agitator is coupler connection type, the gearbox and explosion proof motor is connected by coupler. The features of the GN E version mud agitator:


1. Helical bevel type heavy duty gearbox for reliable operation, good performance and longer working life.
2. The tooth surface coincidence degree of the helical bevel gearbox is bigger, it reduces the load if each pair of gears and improve the bearing capacity of the gears.
3. The explosion proof motor is installed horizontally for easier installation and maintenance, also the client can install their own explosion proof motor if required.
4. Stirring intensity is high, the sweeping area is wide, it can improve the agitating performance of the drilling fluids

HDD Mud Mixing Tank and Mud Cleaning Unit for Middle East Customer

Recently one batch of HDD mud mixing tank and mud cleaning unit are ready for delivery to Middle East client.


Part one is HDD mud mixing tank, including Mud mixing hopper, centrifugal pump ( as mixing pump), centrifugal pump ( as transfer pump to transfer the mud after mixing to other tanks or HDD drilling machine), Mud agitator, mud mixing tank (20ft container size) with tank accessories and electrical control system and lighting.


Part two is HDD mud cleaning unit, including 1 set of 4 panel shale shaker, 1 set of linear motion mud cleaner, 2 unit of mud cleaner feeding pump, 1 set of mud tank (20ft container size) with tank accessories and electric control system, 1 set of lifting frame, lightings. The lifting frame is for convenient lifting of the shale shaker and mud cleaner at one time.
Part three is separate centrifugal pump with control panel.
It is a customized HDD mud recycling system for our client, we also have standard HDD mud recycling system for HDD, bored pile project, CBM, water well drilling and geothermal drilling, TBM, diamond core drilling, etc. applications.


We have 2 types of HDD mud recycling system for different requirement, one is economy mud recycling system, including GNMS-200K with 200gpm treating capacity, GNMS-500K with 500gpm treating capacity, GNMS-1000K with 1000gpm treating capacity.
The other type is self contained mud recycling system, including GNMS-200B with 200gpm treating capacity, GNMS-400B with 400gpm treating capacity, GNMS-600B with 600gpm treating capacity, GNMS-1000B with 1000 gpm treating capacity.
We can make the mud system as skid mounted mud system , it can be loaded on the container trailer for movement; it can be made as hydraulic jack up mud system and trailer mounted mud system.

The shale shaker is drived by 2ea 2.6HP vibration motors, the max G force is 7.5G and it is adjustable.
3) 1 set of mud cleaner GNZS594K-2S12NK, it is desander, desilter, shale shaker 3 in 1 combination mud cleaner, the 10 inch desander cone qty is 2ea, the 4 inch desilter cone qty is 12 ea, the treating capacity of the mud cleaner is 1000gpm, 2ea centrifugal pumps are installed on the tank skid as feeding pump of the desander cone and desilter cone.

GN Drilling Mud Decanter Centrifuge and Centrifugal Pumps for Offshore Drilling Company

Recently GN drilling mud decanter centrifuge and centrifugal pumps are shipping to offshore drilling company.


The drilling mud decanter centrifuge is equipped with offshore lifting skid, compared with the onshore drilling mud decanter centrifuge, the skid for offshore drilling is special designed for safety and convenient lifting for offshore purpose, but without DNV 2.7-1 lifting certificate. When DNV 2.7-1 lifting certificate for the lifting pad is required, the skid should be designed specially. The stainless steel cabinet positive pressurized VFD control panel is separately on the ground, with main motor, back drive motor and pump motor 3 VFD, which is from ABB, YASKAWA, etc. famous brand, the other like PLC and touch screen and other electrical conponents from Siemens and other famous brands. The decanter centrifuge bowl and the screw core shaft are made of duplex stainless steel SS2304 by centrifugal casting, which is superior to the performance of SS304 and SS316.The solids outlet and fluids distribution port is protected by replaceable hard alloy sleeve. The wear resistant and anti-skid bars welded inside the bowl can effectively reduce the wear of the bowl under operation. The screw main material is also duplex stainless steel 2304. The screw blade is protected by tungsten carbide tiles, which is replaceable hard alloy plate.
The centrifugal pump all the parts are interchangeable with international brand pump, so the client can source the parts easily. The pump casing made from hard ductile iron alloy, which increased abrasion resistant performance. The pump skid is special designed for client’s particular requirement.
