GN solids control shipped several units of drilling waste cuttings screw conveyor to Africa Client, this is repeat orders for the same clients for many years. The screw conveyor is widely used for transferring and collecting the drilling waste cuttings from solids control system.


The installation of screw conveyor:
The screw conveyor might be installed on different place for different functions, for example, it can be installed along with the solids control system mud tank besides the shale shaker, mud cleaner, decanter centrifuge to collect the discharged drilling cuttings; it can be installed slantly under the horizontal installed screw conveyor to transfer the drilling cuttings to vertical cuttings dryer; it could be installed under the vertical cuttings dryer solids discharge port to transfer the discharged solids cake outside automatically, it can be installed under the decanter centrifuge solids discharge port to transfer out the solids automatically. It can be used in cuttings solidification unit to transfer the 3 materials and mix them together.


The screw conveyor can transfer the material with less fluids content in the cuttings, otherwise it will flow back and spill out. When the fluids content is very high, we need to use vacuum pump, slurry pump or hose pump to transfer to the drilling waste management system.

One unit of 1m3/h oil sludge treatment system testing unit is shipped to Europe recently, this is for client’s urgent requirement, later the 15m3/h oil sludge separation system will be shipped next month for the same client.


The client has visited GN factory in Beijing twice, after factory inspection and business negotiation, they placed order for the 15 m3 oil sludge treatment system, and also the 1 m3/h oil sludge separation system for urgent purpose.

The main components of the system including:
1) 2 panel shale shaker to separate coarse solids from the oil sludge in case of any coarse solids will damage the decanter centrifuge
2) 2 phase mini decanter centrifuge to separate the fine solids maximumly from the oil sludge by mixing with chemicals, with fluids collection box
3) 3 phase disc centrifuge to separate the oil from water to get pure oil and pure water
4) Oil storage tank and water storage tank
5) Pre mixing tank with mud agitator, heating lines
6) Chemical dosing system
7) Shale shaker fluids storage tank with heating lines
8) Shale shaker feeding pump
9) Decanter centrifuge feeding pump
10) Tank skid for the all equipments

The system is originally produced to show at CIPPE oil exhibition, after the exhibition, we shipped the testing unit to a domestic client for testing their oil sludge treatment, they use the proper chemical jetting and get the satisfied result, then we shipped the unit back to our factory for cleaning, and prepare to test in other client’s jobsite.

In recent weeks, GN Solids Control just finished its production for a new project in the tunnel bored drilling industry, the order includes two large bowl decanter centrifuge and two containerized chemical dosing system. Successfully delivered this system to the customer representing GN’s great manufacturing capability and strong delivery capability.

The bowl material is made of 2205 stainless steel which is very tough and reliable, the screw conveyor surface is covered with tungsten carbide tiles which is easy for replacement and very easy for maintenance. The solid and liquid discharge port is also made with the tungsten carbide inserts, which has very good longevity. The bearing is provided by world famous brand SKF. All in all, this is a very cost effective but very good quality product. The containerized chemical dosing system is a great value and supplement to the decanter centrifuge, if the customer want to separate smaller solids, as the decanter centrifuge can only separate the solid size from 5-20 microns, when using the chemical dosing system, the solid separation size could reach up to almost zero. Last week, GN’s new order of a new system for soil remediation was successfully delivered to a customer’s job site in Seattle. This system mainly includes a high-G drying shaker, desilter, and a large bowl decanter centrifuge. Except for the main equipment, this system also includes some hoppers, tanks, centrifuge racks, pilling system and so on.
