Common Applications of centrifugal pumps on a Drilling Rig:

1.Feeding Solids Control Equipments: it works as feeding pump of desander cone and desilter cone
2.Mud Mixing and Agitation: Transferring drilling mud from a storage tank to a mixing hopper to add new bentonite or chemicals, or circulating mud in a pit to prevent settling.
3.Supercharging: Acting as a “charge pump” for the main triplex mud pumps. It provides a positive pressure at the suction of the main pump, preventing cavitation (a major cause of damage) and improving the main pump’s efficiency, especially when pumping dense muds.
4.Transfer and Loading: Moving mud from one tank to another or loading/unloading mud from supply boats or trucks.
Key Operational Considerations of the centrifugal pump:
• Proper Priming: The pump must always be flooded (full of liquid) before start-up. Running it dry will destroy the mechanical seal almost instantly.
• Wear Monitoring: Operators must regularly monitor the pump’s discharge pressure. A drop in pressure indicates that the impeller and/or volute liner are wearing down and need replacement.
• Cavitation Prevention: A “gurgling” sound and erratic pressure indicate cavitation, which is caused by a restricted suction (e.g., a clogged strainer or closed valve). This must be corrected immediately.

GNLW454GT Decanter centrifuge technical specification is as below:
The bowl diameter is 450mm, the bowl length is 1890mm, the length/ diameter ratio is 4.2.The max bowl speed is 3452rpm, the max G force is up to 3000G. The main motor is 37KW / 45KW/ 55KW, the back drive motor is 11KW/ 15KW/ 22KW, the beach angle is 8.5 degree, The bowl main material is made of duplex stainless steel SS2205 by centrifugal casting, the screw material is made of duplex stainless steel SS2205, the screw is protected by tungsten carbide tiles, and the centrifuge is drived by positive pressurized VFD control panel with PLC touch screen and HMI interface. The bearing is premium SKF bearing for reliable and longer working life. The T series decanter centrifuge is mainly used for dewatering unit.

1. 3 sets of GNZS594K drilling mud shale shaker, it has 4 panel shaker screen, the vibration mode is linear motion, the reference flow rate is 140m3/h, it is drived by 2ea 1.94KW vibration motor, the vibration G force is adjustable and up to 7.5G, the total screen area is 2.73m2. The deck angle is adjustable from -1° to +5°.


2. 1 set of GNZJ594K-3S16N mud cleaner, this is a combo unit combined 3ea of 10 inch desander cone, 16ea of 4 inch desilter cone and bottom shale shaker. The treating capacity is 1500gpm.The bottom shale shaker model is GNZS594K, same with the linear motion shale shaker, the shaker screen is same 4 pcs of 585x1165mm shaker screens.
3. 1 set of GNZCQ360 vacuum degasser


4. 1 set of GNLW363D drilling fluids decanter centrifuge, the bowl diameter is 14 inch, the bowl length is 50 inch, the bowl and the screw core shaft are made of duplex stainless steel SS2304 by centrifugal casting, the other major parts are made of stainless steel 316L, the screw are protected by tungsten carbide tiles, which is interchangeable. The solids outlet and liquid outlet are protected by replaceable hard alloy sleeve.

2 Sets 1000GPM HDD mud cleaning system for Australia Customer

2 sets of 1000 gpm treating capacity HDD mud cleaning system are ready for delivery to Australia customer for HDD projects.
Each set of 1000gpm treating capacity HDD mud cleaning system consists of the items as below:


One set of 11.5 m length mud tank with walkway, guardrail and stairs., 3 sets of centrifugal pump, 2ea as feeding pump of desander cone and desilter cone, 1 ea centrifugal pump as mixing pump, 1ea mixing hopper, 1 ea of mud agitator.
2 sets of double deck shale shaker installed on the mud tank, one shaker with 2 ea of desander cone and another shaker with 10 ea of 5 inch desilter cone, the mud cleaner treating capacity is 1000gpm, the bottom shaker deck as primary shale shaker to separate the coarse solids, then the mud dropped into the mud tank, the desander feeding pump transfer the mud to desander cone, the separation cut point is 75 microns, the treated mud dropped into the mud tank and the desilter feeding pump transfer the mud to desilter cone, the separation cut point is 25 microns, the clean mud dropped into the mud tank, after mixing with proper chemicals by the mixing hopper, the clean mud can be reused by HDD rig.
