Mud Cleaning System

Recently one unit of GNMS-1000D HDD desander plant and GNMS-500D HDD desander unit, one unit of dewatering centrifuge GNLW554E-VFD, three set of mud mixing and storage system, one unit of jet mud mixer are shipping to engineering company.


The HDD/ TBM desander unit are a compact design mud cleaning system, the technical configuration is as below:
Double deck shale shaker with hydrocylones as 2 phase cleaning equipment, the first phase cleaning is coarse solids separation shaker screen, normally we use API 40 or API 60 shaker screen; the second phase cleaning is fine solids separation by desander cone, the solids are drop down to the fine mesh shaker screen to collect more useful fluids. One feeding pump for desander cone are installed on the compact mud tank with electric control panel, cable connection, pipelines and accessories. The cut point of the desander unit is 40 microns. The GNMS-500D desander unit with one unit of desander cone, the treating capacity is 500gpm; GNMS-1000D deander unit with 2ea desander cone, the treating capacity is 1000gpm. The shaker screen installed on first layer and second layer are both composite material frame shaker screen, the screen locking way is by wedges.


The dewatering centrifuge GNLW554E-VFD is used after the desander unit, the separation cut point is 2 microns, it can separate most of the fine solids, the big bowl big volume decanter centrifuge can meet the requirement of big tdewatering capacity, the recovery fluids will be storage at the 3 mixing & storage tank, the jet mud mixer can mix the fluids with powder chemicals to prepare for new drilling fluids, which can be reused to save drilling cost. The pipelines between 3 mud tanks are in parallel connection, so that the jet mud mixer can mix in any tank. Each tank with its mud agitator for better mixing.

Recently 3 units of trenchless GNMS-500D desander unit for HDD project in China. The desander unit can be widely used for HDD, trenchless engineering, piling slurry cleaning, Micro TBM ( Tunnel Boring Machine), diamond core drilling, water well drilling. The technical configuration of GNMS-500D desander unit is as below:
The general treating capacity is 500gpm, desander separation cut point is 40 microns, the mud cleaner model is GNZY753E-Y1S with 1 ea 10 inch desander cone, with vibration strength is below 7.1G ( adjustable), the bottom screen area is 1.35m2, top screen area is 0.875m2, total screen area is 2.22m2. The hydrocyclone feeding pump is GNSB5X4C-13(12)J with 30KW motor. Total power is 32KW, the inland shipping dimension is 3103x1896x2441mm, the operation dimension is 3506x1896x3907mm, total weight is 2850kgs.


The working principal of piling desander unit is as below:
The submersible slurry pump pick up the slurry from mud pit to bottom shaker screens of the double deck shale shaker to separate coarse solids from the slurry and protect the centrifugal pump impeller, the fluids dropped into the mud tank and the desander feeding pump feed the fluids to desander cone, the fluids after treatment will flow to storage tank through pipelines, the solids are dropped on the top layer shaker screen and separated out. The user need to prepare the flexible hose to connect the submersible slurry pump with the desander unit, and mixing unit with hopper, and a big storage tank.


Except for GNMS-500D desander unit, we also have other models, as GNMS-200D desander with 200gpm treating capacity, GNMS-1000D desander unit with 1000gpm capacity.

Recently one unit of mud cleaning system for offshore platform is ready for shipment. Different with normal design drilling mud cleaning system for onshore drilling, the mud cleaning system for offshore is with different features, like compact design, convenient transportation, offshore lifting frame, explosion proof standard to meet offshore drilling requirement, painting and coating to meet offshore requirement for better corrosion resistance.


The technical configuration is as below:
1) One unit of linear motion shale shaker, the discharged solids are collected by buffer box and collected by screw conveyor, which can transfer the drilling waste to cuttings box. The shale shaker are installed on the mud tank with offshore standard lifting pad, it needs to be lifted to the offshore platform frequently, the safety should be assured. All the mud tank pipelines are layout outside for convenient maintenance and operation. All the valves, fittings, flanges are all oil resistance material for longer working life. The shale shaker equipped with 2 ea Italy Oil brand vibration motor, the shaker screens are produced comply with API RP13C standard, with 3 layers stainless steel material wire mesh, composite material frame for longer working life. The shaker screens fixing method is by wedges.


2) One unit of mud cleaner (desander, desilter and shale shaker 3 in 1), the desander cone and desilter cone are all made of 100% polyurethane material for longer working life. The bottom shale shaker is same model with the shale shaker, the shaker screens are with same dimension. The shaker deck bottom are made of stainless steel material for better corrosion resistance.
3) Centrifugal pump, the pump casing and impeller such wear parts are made of ductile hard alloy for longer working life, FAG brand bearing for reliable operation. We can get offshore lifting pad certificate as per client’s requirement.

Recently GN solids control shipped several sets of mud cleaning system to our North America client, this is for their repeat orders for vacuum truck slurry/mud cleaning system. The technical configuration of the mud cleaning system is as below:


1) Slurry collection hopper which is installed on top of the slurry treatment system, in the previous design the slurry collection hopper is laying separately, considering the area limit at client’s working site, we put the slurry collection hopper on top of the mud cleaning tank to save space. There is discharge port under the collection hopper to feed directly to the 2 units of dual deck shale shaker.


2) The coarse solids separation tank including 2 units of dual deck shale shaker and 1 unit of mud agitator. The shaker screens installed is with coarse mesh size, so that coarse solids can be separated out in this process.
3) The fine solids separation tank including 1 unit of linear motion shale shaker with fine wire mesh to separate the fine solids from the slurry, the submersible slurry pump transfer the clean mud to the mud cleaner, the desilter cone separation cut point is 25 microns. The outter protection guard is desgined for HSE purpose according to client’s feedback.


4) The clean mud discharged from mud cleaner will be transferred to dewatering centrifuge system to separate ultra fine solids up to 1 microns. The dewatering centrifuge is a big bowl big volume decanter centrifuge with VFD control panel, to increase the separation efficiency and get drier discharged solids, chemical dosing system will be used before feeding to the dewatering centrifuge.
