Mud Cleaning System for Offshore Platform

Recently one unit of mud cleaning system for offshore platform is ready for shipment. Different with normal design drilling mud cleaning system for onshore drilling, the mud cleaning system for offshore is with different features, like compact design, convenient transportation, offshore lifting frame, explosion proof standard to meet offshore drilling requirement, painting and coating to meet offshore requirement for better corrosion resistance.


The technical configuration is as below:
1) One unit of linear motion shale shaker, the discharged solids are collected by buffer box and collected by screw conveyor, which can transfer the drilling waste to cuttings box. The shale shaker are installed on the mud tank with offshore standard lifting pad, it needs to be lifted to the offshore platform frequently, the safety should be assured. All the mud tank pipelines are layout outside for convenient maintenance and operation. All the valves, fittings, flanges are all oil resistance material for longer working life. The shale shaker equipped with 2 ea Italy Oil brand vibration motor, the shaker screens are produced comply with API RP13C standard, with 3 layers stainless steel material wire mesh, composite material frame for longer working life. The shaker screens fixing method is by wedges.


2) One unit of mud cleaner (desander, desilter and shale shaker 3 in 1), the desander cone and desilter cone are all made of 100% polyurethane material for longer working life. The bottom shale shaker is same model with the shale shaker, the shaker screens are with same dimension. The shaker deck bottom are made of stainless steel material for better corrosion resistance.
3) Centrifugal pump, the pump casing and impeller such wear parts are made of ductile hard alloy for longer working life, FAG brand bearing for reliable operation. We can get offshore lifting pad certificate as per client’s requirement.

Waste Water Treatment Decanter Centrifuge work in Power Plant

GN decanter centrifuge has worked successfully for power plant waste water treatment in Taiwan, China. The project configuration is as below:
1) Total equipments: 5 sets of GNLW454E decanter centrifuge


2) Material to be treated: power plant waste water
3) Target: Discharge sludge with water content below 75%.
4) Main concern: the solids content is very low, and much ultra fine solids, and the waste water is highly corrosive chemical water.


GNLW454E decanter centrifuge is special designed for waste water treatment, according to the samples we received from the customer, we had designed special bowl angle, pond depth, and bowl major materials for better corrosion resistance for the chemical waste water, normally our standard bowl material is duplex stainless steel 2205 or 2304, for this project, we use duplex stainless steel 2507 for better corrosion resistance.The basic technical specification is as below:
Bowl diameter: 450mm (18 inch), bowl length 1890mm (74.5 inch), the length/diameter ratio is 4.2, the max bowl speed is 4000rpm with max G force 4032G, the main motor is 45KW, the back drive motor is 11KW.

Cuttings transfer pump in China

A new drilling cuttings transfer pump is introduced by GN solids control, which is more suitable for less space, less power consumption, high cuttings solids content, less flowrability, not only for oil & gas drilling cuttings, but also for HDD waste, mining tailings, dredging slurry, and other types slurry. The main application is to use the pump to transfer drilling cuttings to the pitless drilling cuttings treatment system.


Compared with traditional drilling cuttings transfer ways, like screw conveyor and vacuum pump, the cuttings transfer pump has the advantages as below:

12) Suitable for high solids content cuttings, big solids size, less flowrablity
When the rod chambers at the front ends of the two oil cylinders are connected by high-pressure hoses, the rod chambers at the front ends of the pistons of the two oil cylinders are connected through an oil pipe to form a closed oil path. The rodless cavity connects the rodless cavity of the two cylinders with the main oil pump and the mailbox through the reversing valve. For more information, pls contact GN freely.

Containerized Chemical Dosing System for Dewatering Centrifuge to Africa

Recently we shipped one unit of containerized chemical dosing system for dewatering centrifuge to our client in Africa, this is repeat order from one of our old client. The technical configuration is as below:


The three tank automatical powder polymer mixing system, including 3 compartment tank, auger conveyor, hopper, 3 sets agitator, level meter, solenoid valve, piping system, flow meter and PLC control system for automatic continuous operation, 2 sets of chemical dosing pump, 2 sets safety valve, pressure gauge and pump holder, etc.
Coagulant mixing tank including agitator, level meter, 2 sets of chemical dosing pump, safety valve, pressure gauge, pump holder, etc.
All of these above items are installed inside 20ft container, with windows, doors, lightings and air conditioner.


The dewatering unit worked with dewatering centrifuge, as one of professional decanter centrifuge manufacturer in China, GN solids control produce various size decanter centrifuge from 9 inch bowl, 14 inch bowl, 18 inch bowl, 22 inch bowl, 30 inch bowl, with different bowl length for different applications. The client already purchased the dewatering centrifuge before, when the treated fluids/ mud will be recovery for reuse, only mechanical separation will be enough, cause the decanter centrifuge cut point is 2~ 5 microns, which can separate most of the fine solids from the mud/drilling waste. When the drilling project is finished and the purpose is to get pure water and final disposal, we need to use dewatering unit ( into the container) to get the ultra fine solids to be accumulated into the particles which can be treated by decanter centrifuge. The discharged water remained solids only below 1 microns, most of the solids can be separated out, the discharged solids is dry enough to be collected by waste truck.

Offshore drilling mud cleaner ready for shipment

Recently 2 sets of offshore drilling mud cleaner are ready for shipment, the difference of the offshore used mud cleaner with onshore drilling mud cleaner is the lifting point and explosion proof vibration and starter. The lifting pad system conforms to DNV 2.7-1 or CCS lifting certificate to meet for offshore drilling. We can make customized design equipments according to different requirements.


The mud cleaner equipped with 3 ea of 10 inch desander cone and 16 ea of 4 inch desilter cone, all of the hydrocyclones are made of 100% composite material for longer working life, especially when the solids content is very high, we will use metal cover outside the polyurethane material cone in case that the hydrocyclone will be easily deformed and damaged. 2 units of 1.72KW vibration motor from Italy Oli or US Martin brand are used to drive the bottom drying shaker. The lifting frame with offshore approved lifting pad is designed for convenient lifting the equipment from land to offshore rig. We can provide different explosion proof standard motor and starter based on different requirement.


The mud cleaner with a 4 panel screen bottom shale shaker to recovery more useful drilling fluids. All of the screens are composite material frame shaker screen with stainless steel 316 wire mesh, we use 3 layers of wire mesh for all the API mesh over API60, which has been widely used in different countries for oil drilling rig for treatment of different types drilling fluids, the working life is from 300 to 700 hours.
