Drilling Mud Recycling System

Recently one batch of drilling waste treatment decanter centrifuge, OBM vertical cuttings dryer , drilling cuttings screw conveyor and feeding pump are ready for delivery to Middle East customer. The equipments list including:

12 units of drilling cuttings transfer screw conveyor, which is customized design for the client to proper meet the installation purpose.
12 units of screw pump as centrifuge feeding pump and vertical cuttings dryer flushing pump

The standard oil based drilling cuttings treatment system working process is that the screw conveyor will be installed along with solids control system shaker tank, to collect drilling cuttings from primary shale shaker, and transfer the drilling waste to solids discharge port and drop into another screw conveyor which is installed slantly and transfer to vertical cuttings dryer feed port. To separate the solids with oil water mixture fluids, the oil content on the cuttings will be below 10%, sometimes it is even below 5%, which can meet local disposal requirement. the screw pump will be as flushing pump of vertical cuttings dryer to avoid screen basket blocking by oil waste, the fluids will flow to intermediate tank and centrifuge feeding pump will feed the fluids to oilfield decanter centrifuge to separate fine solids from drilling fluids, which will flow back to mixing tank to prepare for new drilling fluids.

The client can produce mud tank locally or produce telescopic skid to install the decanter centrifuge and vertical cuttings dryer on top for convenient operation and discharge. The drilling waste management system can be applied for onshore drilling and offshore drilling with different explosion proof motor and control panel. Recently one batch of drilling mud solids control decanter centrifuges are ready for shipment to Africa client. Drilling mud solids control decanter centrifuge produced by GN solids control has been widely used in over 70 countries in the world, the decanter centrifuge is installed after desilter or mud cleaner, there are 2 types decanter centrifuges can be used for drilling fluids treatment, including middle speed decanter centrifuge for barite recovery and high speed decanter centrifuge for low gravity solids separation. Sometimes the client will buy variable frequency drive decanter centrifuge which can be used as both middle speed decanter centrifuge and high speed decanter centrifuge. The decanter centrifuge can be also installed on a telescopic skid which is separated from solids control system to treat the drilling fluids, the treated clean fluids will flow back to mixing tank or reserve tank to prepare for new drilling fluids.

Submersible slurry pump or screw pump can be used as decanter centrifuge feeding pump, it will be decided by space of installation.
GN decanter centrifuge features are as below:

1. The centrifuge main bowl is made of duplex stainless steel 2205 or 2304 by centrifugal casting which is better than SS304 or SS316L.
2. The solids discharge port and mud distribution port is made from tungsten carbide inserts, the anti abrasion resistance will be better, and it is interchangeable.
3. The screw inside the bowl is protected by interchangeable tungsten carbide tiles for longer working life and easy repair
5. The screw is made of stainless steel with heat treatment, the open impeller design will improve the centrifuge capacity.
6. The bearing are SKF brand bearing for reliable operation
7. The bowl and screw 3 stage balancing process, including low speed balancing, operation high speed balancing and assembly balancing, which will ensure the enough balance of centrifuge.

Recently 2 sets of HDD mud cleaning system are ready for shipment to Sinopec. The first one is 240m3/h (1000GPM) HDD mud cleaning system, the second one is 120m3/h (500GPM) HDD mud cleaning system.
240m3/h (1000GPM) HDD mud cleaning system

Including 2 sets of GNZS703F shale shaker, 1 set of GNZJ70F-2S12N mud cleaner with 2 units of centrifugal pump as desander, desilter feeding pump, 1 unit of big bowl big volume dewatering centrifuge GNLW554EP-VFD, jet mixing unit 1 unit, mud tank 4 units. The shale shaker is the first phase cleaning equipment to separate the coarse solids from HDD drilling mud, the mud cleaner with desander cone, desilter cone and bottom shale shaker, the desander cone is the second phase cleaning equipment to separate solids cut point 45~75 microns, the desilter cone is the third phase cleaning equipment to separate solids cut point 25~45 microns. The big bowl dewatering centrifuge mechanical separation cut point is 2~5 microns, GNLW554EP-VFD with bowl diameter 22 inch, bowl length 91 inch, the designed max treating capacity is 600gpm, typical treating capacity is 480gpm, max G force is 3051G, the typical G force is 2412G, with proper chemical dosing system, most of the ultra fine solids can be separated out. After long time operation, many fine solids will accumulated in the HDD drilling mud, the used drilling fluids treated by desilter cone can not be reused to prepare for new drilling fluids, the dewatering centrifuge should be used to separate ultra fine solids.

120m3/h (500GPM) HDD mud cleaning system
Including 1 set of GNZS703F shale shaker, 1 set of GNZS70F-1S8N mud cleaner with 2 units of centrifugal pump as desander, desilter feeding pump, 1 unit of dewatering centrifuge GNLW452D, jet mixing unit 1 unit, mud tank 2 units.

Three units of dual motion shale shaker are ready for shipment to offshore drilling company. The dual motion shale shaker including vibration mode of linear motion and elliptical motion, there is vibration mode switch installed on the shale shaker starter which can change the vibration mode. When they need to change the vibration mode according to drilling conditions, the shaker should be stop for safe adjustment. 2ea 2.5HP vibration motors drive the shale shaker and produce up to 7.6G force for linear motion, up to 5.23G for elliptical motion, which is adjustable. The shaker deck angle can be adjusted from -1°~+5° and it can be adjusted synchronously by both sides,. The shaker screen is fixed by wedges for fast screen replacement. The dual motion shale shaker shale shaker can be made as single deck shale shaker and dual deck shale shaker, 2 units or 3 units shale shakers can be assembly as tandem shale shaker or triple shale shaker.

The linear motion is apply to drilling fluids with low viscosity, high flow, high solids content, big size solids , hard drill cuttings.

The elliptical motion is apply to drilling fluids with high viscosity, slow flow, high solids content and easy broken drilling cuttings.

Composite material frame shaker screen are installed on the shale shaker, GN produced OEM shaker screens are produced compliant to API RP13C, we can provide shaker screen wire mesh configuration from API 20 to API 325. The composite frame screen is repairable to save cost, compared with metal frame shaker screen, the composite material frame useable area is 10% to 20% larger, it is rust resistant for longer time storage up to over 5 years.

Linear motion shale shaker with ViST screen, ViST vacuum screen technology is to work together with shale shaker, the function is to reduce drilling waste and recycle drilling fluids. In a result, ViST maximize the recycled drilling fluids volume and generates dryer cuttings. By applied with ViST, the user can save money for drilling fluids and waste management.

Decanter Centrifuge, GN produced decanter centrifuge can be applied to waste water treatment, solids control system drilling fluids treatment, drilling waste treatment, oil waste treatment and other solids liquid separation projects. We can produce decanter centrifuge from 9 inch to 30 inch bowl diameter, according to client’s requirement, we can produce fixed speed or variable frequency drive control panel.

Vertical cuttings dryer, one of the most popular model is GNCD930 vertical cuttings dryer, the lastest version is G version, we have updated the design according to user’s feedback and technology improvement.

Solids vacuum pump, the 100% air operated vacuum pump can be used at hazardous area and electricity limited area. The compact design of the vacuum pump allowed it to be installed inside the oil tank for easier picking up of the oil sludge from tank bottom, without needing people entry. The solids vacuum pump can transfer different kinds of materials, such as dredging slurry, oil sludge, material with solids content up to 80%, material with big solids up to 75mm.
