Recently GN solids control shipped mud mixing system to trenchless engineering company, the technical configuration is as below:


One transfer pump installed on one side of the mixing tank to transfer the mixed drilling mud to other place. The mixing hopper and mixing pump installed on the other side of the mixing tank with proper pipeline fittings, the man hole, clean gate, handrails and stairs are equipped on the mixing tank. The centrifugal pump head is interchangeable with famous brand centrifugal pump, the pump casing and impeller are made of hard ductile iron for better abrasion resistance.


The other mixing tank is consist of mixing hopper, and 2 shear mixing pump with its individual control panel, another transfer pump is on another side of the mixing system to transfer the mud. The pump can cut the chemicals into small pieces for better mixing performance of the chemicals, 2 each round chemical mixing tank are located in the mixing skid, with mud agitator on top of the mixing tank and liquid level meter, pipelines, valves, etc. accessories are attached. The painting and coating color is customized as per client’s requirement.


Except for mud mixing system, GN solids control can also produce dewatering centrifuge package to separate fine solids and get water recovery. The dewatering unit consists of one unit of dewatering centrifuge, 1 unit of centrifuge feeding pump, 1 unit of chemical dosing unit, 1 unit of catching tank. GN desander unit for TBM, piling engineering company should be used before the dewatering centrifuge, desander unit including 1ea double deck shale shaker and hydrocyclones ( desander or desilter), feeding pump, transfer pump and catching tank, the function is to separate coarse solids from the slurry, the fluids can be reused or treated by the dewatering centrifuge unit to get clear water.

Recently one set of liquid mud plant are ready for shipment to South America. It is one of the three components of the complete liquid mud plant for this client, the client take this part as first phase project, it consists of mud mixing tank and storage tanks.


The mud mixing system is a square tank with 400bbl capacity, two each of special designed dust free mixing hopper are vertical installed on the mud tank and drived by 2 units of slurry pump for mud mixing. 2 units of mud agitator are agitating the mud to prevent it from precipitation in the tank bottom, the mud gun are installed as mixing and transfer of mud which is drived by centrifugal pump. The tank accessories including hand rails, pipeline, valves, walkway, stairs, and one unit of operation table, there is a stair to walk on and easily take the dry bulk chemicals and put it on the mixing hopper.


The mud storage system including 14 units of cylinder tanks in 2 rows and connected by pipelines and controlled by valves, the gun line outside the cylinder tank to transfer the mud flexible. The mechanical liquid level meter outside the vertical tanks can easily check the mud level by the operator.
2 units of centrifugal pumps are installed on both end of the storage system and connected by pipelines as transfer pump, they can transfer the mud from any storage tank to mixing tank, and transfer mud from mixing tank after mixing to any storage tank. All the gate valves, bufferfly valves, and all the rubber parts in the system are all oil resistant material for longer working life. The system color is customized blue color, we can also paint with client’s LOGO if required.

Recently 4 sets of solids control equipments are ready for shipment to our client, this is the repeat order from the client, they will produce 4 sets of mud tank system locally to produce sea freight cost and import tax. The configuration is as below:


1) 4 sets of shale shaker with 3 panel shaker screens, each shale shaker with 2 no vibration motors. Each shaker installed with API 170 shaker screens
2) 4 sets of 7.5KW mud agitators
3) 36 pcs of composite material frame shaker screens, dimension is 700 x 1250mm
4) 4 sets of mixing venturi hopper with stainless steel material
5) 4 sets of mud gun
6) 2 sets of centrifugal pump as mixing pump


These 4 sets of mud tank system are used for workover rig drilling mud recycling. Each mud tank with 1 unit shale shaker, 1 unit mud agitator, 1 unit mud gun, 1 unit of venture mixing hopper, 1 unit of centrifugal pump as mixing pump to drive the mixing unit. The client produce the mud tank, tank accessories, pipelines, walkways, handrails, stairs, valves, etc.


Compared with oil drilling rig solids control system, the workover rig mud tank system normally with less equipment and do not have strict requirement for the solids removal from the drilling fluids. The common rig solids control system including 2 or 3 units of shale shaker, 1 unit of mud cleaner with 2 unit of centrifugal pumps, 1 unit vacuum degasser, 1 unit of decanter centrifuge for barite recovery, 1 unit of decanter centrifuge for low gravity solids removal. Several units of mud agitator, mud guns for agitating the drilling mud, several units of mixing hopper with mixing pump, several units of charging pump to feed the drilling fluids to mud pump.

Recently one set of offshore mud tank system is ready for shipment, Because of the limit space for offshore platform, the design of the mud tank system is compact and easy transportation, the technical configuration is as below:


1) One unit of linear motion shale shaker to separate the coarse solids, the shaker screens are composite material frame with stainless steel 316L wire mesh for longer working life, so that the user do not need to waste much time on replace the shaker screens. The screen lock method is by wedges with ratchet wrench for convenient locking the screens.


2) One unit of mud cleaner( desander cone, desilter cone and underflow shale shaker combination) with 2 centrifugal pump as feeding pump, the centrifugal pump is interchangeable with famous brand centrifugal pump, the hydrocyclones are 100% PU material for longer working life, if the mud temperature is higher than 80 degree, we will use metal cover outside the PU cone to prevent is from deformation.
3) One unit of decanter centrifuge with submersible slurry pump as feeding pump
4) Compact design mud tank with all the electric cables outside the mud tank for convenience replacement and check. The discharged solids/ cuttings are collected by a slant box and drop down to the screw conveyor to transfer the cuttings to the drilling waste management system.The user do not have to clean the floor and do not need extra skip to collect the waste cuttings. The handrail, walkway and stairs are installed with the mud tank.
5) The mixing hopper, mixing pump are installed on the mud mixing tank if the client need to prepare for new drilling fluids with the recovery drilling fluids.

This week GN shipped one set of workover rig solids control system to Australia. The configuration is as below:
1) Shaker tank with 2 units of shale shaker to clean the drilling mud


2) Mixing tank with mixing hopper, 2 units of centrifugal pump to prepare for new drilling fluids
3) Mud agitator, mud gun, pipelines, valves all equipped with both mud tanks
The difference for this solids control system between normal solids control system:
1) All the electric control system include cables, glands, electric components, and the design should be comply with Australia explosion proof standard
2) The lifting pad, walkway, handrail, the distance between adjacent components, etc should be comply with Australia safety regulations
3) The welding and painting standard is also very strict in Australia, the tank top surface is fixed with high strength glass fiber reinforced plastics.


4) The clean gate is with high position gate valve type clean gate for convenient operation and cleaning of the accumulated solids
