Recently 2 sets of oil based drilling cuttings treatment system are ready for shipment to Russia. Same with previous order, the vertical cuttings dryer and decanter centrifuges are installed in the container with insulation layer to keep the equipments warm in cold weather in China.

1) Vertical cuttings dryer for oil based drilling cuttings treatment, the oil on the discharged cuttings is below 5%, the client can disposal the solids directly or send to TDU unit according to the environmental protection regulations in their country. The treated fluids will flow to the intermediate tank, the feeding pump of decanter centrifuge will feed the fluids to decanter centrifuge to separate the fine solids. The vertical cutting dryer is installed on the frame inside the container.


2) The waste decanter centrifuge will separate the solids cut point 2~5 microns from the fluids, the discharged fluids can be reused by drilling and prepare for new fluids.
3) Positive Displacement pump is as the feeding pump of decanter centrifuge and installed in the container.
4) The 40ft standard container with windows, doors and top open hole for easy replacement of the screen basket which is wear parts of the vertical cuttings dryer. The insulation layer attached with container is to keep the equipments working well in cold weather in Winter, it is special design for Russia clients.

The purpose to use the ViST vacuum unit under the shale shaker is for more recovery of the drilling fluids in the same conditions compared with shale shaker without ViST system, and the discharged drilling cuttings will be much drier, so the user can save cost to treat and disposal the drilling cuttings. Normally it is very difficult for the offshore drilling cuttings collection, treatment and disposal, sometimes client will ship them back to drilling waste management facility in land, the collection and shipment cost is very high, other clients use cuttings re-injection technology, some clients use Thermal desorption unit, some clients installed drilling waste management on the offshore rig floor, but normally the area for offshore drilling rig is very limit, it is hard to install a complete vertical cuttings dryer system. 56 units of drilling fluids mud agitators and 3 units slurry vacuum pump shipped to China client this week.
The mud agitator is consist of electric motor and gearbox and skid, it is installed on the mud tank to prevent the solids from accumulation on the tank bottom. The mud gun length and mud agitator shaft length is customized according to mud tank inner depth. GN mud agitator have C version and D version, the C version mud agitator is that the electric motor and gearbox is connected by coupler , if the client need local standard motors or they want to install their own motors, they can buy the gearbox with coupler and skid, and install the motor locally to meet the special explosion proof standard. D version mud agitator is the lastest mud agitator, the gearbox and electric motor is connected directly, with compact design, it will save space on the mud tank, and easy for maintenance.
The slurry vacuum pump is the most popular drilling cuttings transfer pump since this year, with the advanced technology. It is a pneumatic slurry transfer vacuum pump for liquid, slurry, and solids transfer. The pump can transfer material with high gravity and high density, solids content max. up to 80%.

As the oil and gas exploration and production technology is improving day by day, the traditional mud recycling system is gradually replaced by automatic, systematic and close-looped mud recycling system. Cutting dryers is more and more used together with the solid control system in the drilling rigs to meet the critical environmental requirement. There are two types of cutting dryer, fixed speed and VFD. GN can manufacture them according to different customer’s requirements and save money for customers. The screen bowl’s maximum diameter is 930mm. And there are three different kind of screens for your choice, 250 micron, 350 micron and 500 micron. The handling capacity is 30 to 50 tons per hour. Tungsten carbide protect the flights on the rotor from abrasive solids and ensure longer operation life. The special design of high pressure air knife can clean the basket screen automatically and easily, and avoid the screen to be blinded by the viscosity mud and water based mud. The flushing system with specially designed nozzles around the body of cutting dryer can avoid the liquid discharge channel being blocked by sediments. The lubrication system is electrically interlocked with the main motor starter to prevent machine operation in the event of low or no oil pressure to the gearbox. The VFD control panel can facilitate soft starting, fingertip control of the VFD system can change the motor speed and thus the G force can be changed to the working conditions. The VFD system is made by ABB or SIEMENS and it is explosive proof.
